Roger Bobo

Roger Bobo is certainly one of the most influential tubists – and musicians – of all time. He was very generous to me as a young man, treating me as a colleague, not a kid. We remained friends until his passing. There is a wealth of information about Roger here (and elsewhere online). Roger’s 1961 Carnegie Hall Recital inspired John Updike’s poem, Recital.

When Roger passed, Jeff Reynolds re-posted his birthday salute to his friend, colleague, and teacher.
