As Tommy Johnson told me, he had a jingle call on the Westside of LA for BankAmericard®. The traffic on Beverly Glen Drive was bad and he was half an hour late to the one-hour call. Not knowing what would be on his plate, he had only brought his (big) Miraphone 191 BBb tuba. He started towards the brass at the back of the room but his colleagues pointed to the music stand and empty chair next to the podium.
